Vice-Dale County

Vice-Dale County borders Kelly County to the west and Leonard County to the north. Local law enforcement is handled by the Vice-Dale Police Department.

Geography

Vice-Dale County occupies the southern end of Leonida and contains some of the state’s most heavily populated and developed areas.

Its territory includes the dense urban environment of Vice City, coastal districts around Vice Beach, and smaller communities such as Hamlet.

Because Vice City serves as a major center for tourism, nightlife, business, and criminal activity, Vice-Dale County is expected to be one of the most important regions players will explore in GTA VI.

Law Enforcement

The county is served by the Vice-Dale Police Department, which is responsible for policing Vice City and surrounding communities.

As one of Leonida’s major metropolitan areas, Vice-Dale County is expected to have a significant law enforcement presence throughout GTA VI.

Influence

Vice-Dale County is primarily based on Miami-Dade County, Florida, the county that contains the real-world city of Miami.

Vice City itself is heavily inspired by Miami, making Miami-Dade the most obvious real-world influence behind Vice-Dale County.

The origin of the word “Dale” in the county’s name has not been officially confirmed.

One possible inspiration is the Spanish expression ”¡Dale!”, which is widely used in South Florida and Miami’s Cuban-American community. The phrase is also strongly associated with Miami-born Cuban-American rapper Pitbull, who frequently uses it as a catchphrase.

Another possible influence is Fort Lauderdale, a South Florida city located north of Miami-Dade County. The ending of “Lauderdale” may have contributed to the fictional Vice-Dale name.

Neither explanation has been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games.

Vice City

Vice City serves as the county seat of Vice-Dale County and is one of the primary locations in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Inspired heavily by Miami, the city features beaches, high-rise buildings, nightlife districts, luxury neighborhoods, major highways, and densely populated urban areas.

It represents the economic and cultural center of Vice-Dale County and one of the most significant locations in the wider State of Leonida.

Vice Beach

Vice Beach is a coastal community within Vice-Dale County.

The area is closely associated with Leonida’s beach culture, tourism, hotels, nightlife, and waterfront attractions.

Its real-world inspiration is primarily drawn from Miami Beach, particularly areas resembling South Beach.

Hamlet

Hamlet is another known community located within Vice-Dale County.

Compared with Vice City and Vice Beach, relatively little is currently known about Hamlet or the role it will play in GTA VI.
