Crest Kayak

The Crest Kayak is a confirmed watercraft set to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Manufactured by Crest, the kayak is designed as a compact paddle-powered vessel suited to Leonida’s extensive coastline, rivers, wetlands, and island regions.

Rockstar officially revealed the Crest Kayak by name, making it one of the relatively small number of GTA VI vehicles and watercraft identified directly by the developer rather than through fan analysis.

Overview

The Crest Kayak is classified under Boats and Watercraft.

Unlike the high-powered speedboats and personal watercraft traditionally associated with GTA, the kayak offers a much slower and quieter way to explore Leonida’s waterways.

Its design appears to be inspired by a sea-touring paddle kayak, built for longer trips across coastal and inland waters rather than speed.

That makes it particularly well suited to areas such as the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, lakes, rivers, and other remote parts of the map.

Official Confirmation

Rockstar officially named the Crest Kayak during the GTA VI Ultimate Edition announcement.

This means its in-game name is confirmed rather than inferred from trailers, screenshots, branding, or visual similarities to real-world watercraft.

The kayak has also been shown at Jason’s safehouse, suggesting that it may be stored there or become available from that location.

How to Unlock

The Crest Kayak is associated with the GTA VI Ultimate Edition and related promotional bonus content.

Players with an eligible edition will receive access to the kayak as part of the included bonuses.

Rockstar has not yet explained exactly how the watercraft is claimed or when it becomes available during the story.

Manufacturer

The kayak is produced by Crest.

Very little has been revealed about Crest as a fictional manufacturer so far, making the kayak one of the first major pieces of information associated with the brand.

It is currently unclear whether Crest specializes exclusively in kayaks and outdoor equipment or whether the company produces additional boats and recreational vehicles throughout Leonida.

Real-World Inspiration

The Crest Kayak appears to be modeled after a sea-touring kayak.

These types of kayaks are generally designed for longer trips and open-water travel, making them suitable for coastal exploration, islands, bays, and large inland waterways.

Its inclusion fits GTA VI’s Florida-inspired setting particularly well, given Leonida’s large number of beaches, wetlands, rivers, islands, and coastal communities.

Rockstar has not identified a specific real-world kayak brand or model as its inspiration.

Exploration

The Crest Kayak could provide players with a completely different way to explore GTA VI’s world.

Because it does not rely on an engine, it may allow players to move quietly through waterways and reach areas that are difficult to access with larger boats.

Rockstar has not yet confirmed which of these activities will directly involve the kayak.

Connection to Jason’s Safehouse

The Crest Kayak has been shown at Jason Duval’s safehouse.

This suggests that outdoor and water-based activities may play an important role around his home in the Leonida Keys.

It is not yet known whether the kayak will permanently spawn there, whether it must first be unlocked, or whether players can move and store it at other properties.

Performance

Rockstar has not released official performance information for the Crest Kayak.

Because the kayak is paddle-powered, its performance is likely to be very different from conventional motorized boats.

Customization

It is currently unknown whether the Crest Kayak can be customized.

Rockstar has confirmed vehicle-related businesses such as Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie’s, but there is no indication that either location handles kayaks or other small watercraft.

Possible customization options could theoretically include paint, decals, equipment, or storage accessories, but none of these have been confirmed.

Availability

Outside of its Ultimate Edition connection, the Crest Kayak’s standard in-game availability is unknown.

These details should become clearer once GTA VI is released.

GTA Online Availability

It is not yet known whether the Crest Kayak will appear in GTA Online or GTA VI’s future multiplayer component.

Rockstar has not explained how Ultimate Edition watercraft or recreational vehicles will be handled online.

Its multiplayer availability therefore remains unconfirmed.
