GTA 6 Takes Over Miami With Massive “Welcome to Vice City” Sign

Vice City is starting to become real as Rockstar ramps up its GTA 6 marketing campaign in Miami.

The marketing campaign for Grand Theft Auto 6 is getting difficult to miss.

A massive “Welcome to Vice City” sign has appeared on the roof of Miami’s Kaseya Center, bringing GTA 6’s fictional version of the city directly into its real-world inspiration.

The huge pink-and-white letters were lifted onto the arena’s roof by helicopter on September 22 before crews secured them in place.

Welcome to Vice City

The location couldn’t be much more fitting.

The Kaseya Center is one of Miami’s most recognizable venues and serves as the home arena of the NBA’s Miami Heat. Its waterfront location also makes the enormous Vice City advertisement highly visible from the air, including to some passengers flying into Miami.

Vice City has always been heavily inspired by Miami, but Rockstar’s latest campaign is now blurring that line in the opposite direction — bringing pieces of the fictional city back into the real one.

And this isn’t a small advertising deal.

Reports indicate that Miami-Dade County will receive approximately $975,000 as part of the agreement behind the Kaseya Center promotion.

Rockstar Had Even Bigger Ideas for Miami

The rooftop sign may only be the beginning.

Earlier proposals reportedly included several other ways to transform parts of Miami into Vice City ahead of GTA 6’s launch.

One of the most ambitious ideas involved temporarily branding parts of Miami International Airport as “Vice City Airport.”

Other concepts reportedly included GTA-themed advertising around public areas and even special Vice City manhole covers.

Not every proposal has moved forward, however. Some local officials have raised concerns about partnering public institutions with a franchise known for its focus on crime and violence.

The Kaseya Center promotion, on the other hand, has become very real.

GTA 6 Marketing Is Heating Up

The appearance of a giant Vice City sign in the middle of Miami is another indication that Rockstar’s GTA 6 marketing machine is moving into a much more visible phase.

Instead of limiting the campaign to trailers, screenshots and online announcements, Rockstar is now bringing GTA 6 into the real world.

And Miami is arguably the perfect place to do it.

The real city has provided much of the inspiration behind Vice City for decades, and GTA 6’s version of Vice City will once again serve as one of the most important locations in the game.

Now, anyone flying over downtown Miami might be welcomed to Vice City before they’ve even played GTA 6.

With Grand Theft Auto 6 scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, Rockstar still has time to take the campaign even further.

If a giant “Welcome to Vice City” sign is only the beginning, the final weeks before launch could get very interesting.
