GTA 6 Unlock Time Reportedly Revealed

We already know when GTA 6 is expected to launch, but what time will players actually be able to start playing?

If there are no further delays, Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026. However, because the game is expected to be available digitally at launch, the exact unlock time will determine when players can finally enter Leonida.

And not everyone will get access at the same moment.

New Zealand Could Play GTA 6 First

Based on the expected regional release schedule, players in New Zealand could be among the first in the world to unlock GTA 6.

Because of the time-zone difference, the game could become available there on November 18 at around 12 PM Central European Time, meaning some players may be able to start exploring Vice City many hours before other regions.

Depending on where you live, the difference between the earliest and latest unlock times could reportedly be as much as 19 hours.

The Famous Xbox New Zealand Trick Could Work

This could be particularly interesting for Xbox Series X|S players.

Xbox users have previously been able to access certain games earlier by changing their console region to New Zealand. If GTA 6 follows the same regional unlocking system, players may once again try the well-known “New Zealand trick” to get into the game ahead of their local release time.

On PlayStation, things are more complicated. Simply changing the console’s time zone usually isn’t enough, as access is generally tied to the region of the PlayStation account and store where the game was purchased.

The GTA 6 Launch Is Going to Be Huge

Whenever the exact unlock happens, GTA 6’s launch is expected to be one of the biggest events in gaming history.

After years of waiting, millions of players will finally get their chance to explore Vice City and the wider state of Leonida.

For some players, that adventure could simply begin a little earlier than expected.
